Baños in WV?

March 17, 2005. Baños (bon yos) in West Virginia? The Mexican border is at least 1300 miles south of here and I walked into the new Lowes hardware store in Lewisburg recently to discover they have labeled the toilets in two languages, English and Spanish. Please... give me a break! I ask this question, "How is that some poor souls would find themselves this far north into the United States yet unable to understand English, or figure out the male and female sketches over the toilets in the hills of West Virginia?" I wonder how do you would draw a half moon crescent on our West Virginia outhouses so Spanish speaking people could understand it?

Exactly what are we American's trying to prove with all the catering to Spanish speaking people coming to the U.S., especially the illegal ones that may number 20 million in our country now? This is a great country and if we want the word "United" in the United States of America to mean what it says then we had better expect a little more from those who choose to migrate here. If they want to work and live here why not adapt into our culture? For starters they need to enter by obeying our immigration laws. A logical second step would be learning the English language? I say learn our English language or leave our county! (adiós, or whatever they say). Lowes doesn't need to waste the extra paint and labor to make the signs, and our federal government could cut millions of dollars from their spending by eliminating all the bilingual malarkey forced upon us.

Frankly, all the pandering that results in having millions of immirants in this country who have their loyalties elsewhere is an insult to those of us who love this country and have some idea about what factors made it great. People have been coming to America since day one because they know it is a great country. Why do we now encourage all the multicultural &$#*% (you'll find it in the baño) in schools, government agencies and now in a hardware store in the hills of West Virginia? There are probably less than a half dozen elected officials in Washington that openly admit we have a serious problem of illegals crossing the Mexican border. From Geoge W. on down to the junior members in the House of Representatives, they are all disgraceful in their inaction. Polls show that 80% of Americans think we have an immigration problem and practically none of our elected representatives are showing us they give a whit. This, along with probably a thousand other reasons tells me we should throw them ALL out of office before the fools give the entire store away.........and that's.......
