Who's Crazy?

June 2, 2005. Psychiatry, according to Webster, is the study of mental illness. I suppose the American Psychiatric Association is made up of those men and women in America who study mental illness. Last month the APA endorsed same-sex marriage. In 1973 the APA voted to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. When one man has sex with another man it is a stretch to call that kind of behavior normal. On one level I might agree with the APA, homosexuality may not be a mental illness; instead it is likely a spiritual problem. Of course if demons from Hell affect the behavior of unsaved people to an extreme level, for example men having sex with other men, then it doesn't matter whether you call it a mental or spiritual illness. The basic problem is the same, man's mind is messed up, not to mention the fact that men who participate in sex with other men are about 6,000 times more apt to get the dreaded HIV than men who do not have that behavior.

There will always be people with abnormal behavior. There will always be people who have some mental illness. There will always be people who are headed for Hell because they have not accepted Jesus Christ as savior. That, my friend, is a serious spiritual problem. I don't get so upset with people who are abnormal in their behavior, nor do I get so upset with those who don't know the Lord yet. However, I get a little put out by all those highly educated eggheads who try to convince you and me that something as totally outrageous as men marrying men, is somehow okay. When I was about 6-8 years old I heard one of our neighbors say, "There are more crazy people outside the insane asylum than inside". Very likely true, and I feel certain that a good share of them belong to the American Psychiatric Association.........and that's............
