Illegals - Does Anybody Care?

November 17, 2004. President George W. Bush doesn't care, John Kerry doesn't care, the mayors of Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, New York City, San Francisco, and Denver don't care. John McCain and a lot of other members of congress don't care that millions of people have broken our laws to reside here. Those politicians and many others are doing all they can to defy the wishes of the people. Illegals are crossing the border at the rate of about three million per year. That's more people than live in my home state of West Virginia. Put another way, the number of illegal aliens coming into United States this year will total enough to fill 22,000 Boeing 737 airliners, or 60 flights every day for a year." Remember a key word here is "illegal".

Conspicuously missing from both the Bush and the Kerry presidential campaigns was the debate or even mention of the illegal immigration problem. Why? Because "we the people" are concerned about the problem but the people in power are not. A February 2004 Gallup Poll revealed that 85% of Americans believe that "the large number of immigrants entering the US" is an important threat to the vital interest of the United States in the next 10 years. Of those, 50% believe it is a "critical threat."

Bush and Kerry wanted no discussion about illegal immigration, no debate, no can of worms to break open just before you cast your vote. Then to add insult to injury, one of the first things Bush did after his reelection was to meet with John McCain, Senator from Arizona (one of the real immigration problem areas) to work toward Bush's amnesty program. Bush introduced his amnesty ideas several months ago and he got some well deserved backlash from people like you and me. He said no more until reelected. Also in this mix is the fact that Arizona citizens passed a ballot initiative aimed at keeping illegal immigrants from voting and obtaining some government services. Senator McCain was against the measure -- nice public servants, Bush and McCain, right?

According to a study by the Center for Immigration Studies households headed by illegal aliens cost the taxpayer $2700 more in welfare than they contribute in taxes. If George W. Bush's amnesty plan goes through you can add another $5,000 to that because the average illegal is poorly educated (two-thirds of them do not have a high school education) and would readily qualify for all the welfare goodies the feds take from your pocket to place in the pockets of the illegal aliens. Can we just call that stealing your money to buy their votes?

The cost of bilingual education is $1,200.00 per illegal alien student. Multiply that by the 1.1 million illegal alien children we educate each year and watch your calculator croak. It gets worse: taxpayers also shelled out $27 billion to provide forms, ballots, interpreters and brochures for languages other than English in 2003. Look again, $27 BILLION. Tell me, what's wrong with saving $27 billion by requiring people who come to this country to speak English for heaven's sake?

Social Security seems to be talked about during each election cycle. Did you know that US and Mexican officials met on July 3, 2004 and signed an agreement that would allow millions of legal and illegal Mexicans who worked in the US to collect US Social Security benefits? That's all we need to fix Social Security, right? Remember it was members of the US Congress who looted the Social Security fund, and now they have a chance to make it worse.

I voted for Bush in order to keep John Kerry out of the White House because I think he would have been a bigger disaster, but I'm convinced America is ready for the right candidate in the right third party.....and that's....
