No Mexican Left Behind January 12, 2004. Can you say illegal? Il-le-gal 1. forbidden by law or statute. 2. contrary to or forbidden by official rules or regulations. (source: Webster's American Dictionary) How difficult is that to understand by the people who make, administer and enforce laws in the United States? President George Bush is a bit amazing; he has done so many things correctly while at the same time he has been completely out in left field on others. His basic integrity, his firm decision making and commitment to purpose in the face of opposition are commendable, but he continues his liberal proposals as well. Last week Bush announced his wish to implement a work program for illegal immigrants. He called them undocumented workers; I call them what they are, illegal immigrants. Bush's plan would grant temporary work permits to supposedly alleviate the widespread illegal influx into the U.S. Bush said,"I oppose amnesty, placing undocumented workers on the automatic path to citizenship. Granting amnesty encourages the violation of our laws and perpetuates illegal immigration." Bush's guest-worker card that would be available to some of the estimated 8-10 million illegal aliens in America is definitely a BAD idea. Tell me, do you think granting cards to illegals would alleviate widespread influx of illegals, or is there a chance thousands would dash for the border seeking one of those cards? I agree with Bush that amnesty encourages violation of our immigration laws. Frankly I think you could call his guest-worker card a ticket to "Amnesty Light". If workers are given three year working permits with a chance to renew, who will be the bad guys who tell the guest-worker illegals to get out of our country after they have started raising their families here? Huh? Bush saying this is not an amnesty program is much like Bill Clinton saying he hoped there would be no abortions. We landed spacecraft on Mars the same week Bush announced the guest-worker card idea. That's great to land on Mars. Bush then says we need to do more space travel including putting men on Mars and establishing a colony of people in outer space. That's the spirit of America that I love; "We can do that." I still remember President Kennedy making the challenge to go to the moon, and we put those men on the moon in slightly less time than he predicted. Yes, I love that spirit. BUT, if we can put men on the moon and land spacecraft on Mars sending us clear pictures of what it looks like on the red planet, why do we have 8-10 million illegal aliens in the U.S.? Don't tell me, or the vast American public, that we can't control our borders. We can put men on the moon and we can control the borders if our elected officials decide to do so........and that's........... .....................My Biased Opinion Jesus is Offensive December 15, 2003. For many years Americans have witnessed increased opposition to Christian symbols, words or anything that relates to the birthday of Jesus. The anti-Christian activity is not confined to the Christmas season, it is just more pronounced then. The reason, of course, is that all want to enjoy the season, but only Christians are celebrating the birth of Jesus. We often hear of the mythical "separation of church and state" as the reason to exclude Christianity from tax payer funded facilities and institutions such as schools and other government buildings. More and more businesses are also excluding Christ because they don't want to offend anyone. Actually the lost people of this world do
not fear religion, it's the name of Jesus that makes the controlling demons
tremble. The name of Jesus is offensive to people who reject Him. Christians
know that, and unsaved people don't have a clue as to why they are uncomfortable
with that name. The Bible says it is the "name above every name".
(And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became
obedient to death-- even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to
the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and
under the earth, Phil 2: 8-10, NIV) There is a heaven. There is a hell. Jesus is the only way to heaven. His name only offends those who don't know him. There is a difference between "knowing about Jesus" and "knowing Him because of a close personal relationship".Christians know Him and take joy in hearing and seeing that name. In this age of American history we Christians need to spend more time in prayer so God can reveal to us how we can change the culture in America by leading others to Jesus...and that's...... ......................My Biased Opinion Call Me An Islamophobe December 5, 2003. Am I afraid of Muslims, the people who follow the Islam faith? Perhaps in one dimension I am. I'm sure the more radical true followers of that religion would say I am an Islamophobe. As a Christian I have no real fear of Islam, but I am disturbed that our nation's leaders, including President George W. Bush keep pandering to Muslims. Lets consider two examples of recent times. Back in late October President Bush hosted a Ramadan dinner with U.S. Islamic leaders. This evening feast, called Iftar, breaks a dawn-to-dusk fast that Muslims observe during the month of Ramadan. Bush hosted the first such Iftar following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks by Muslims on New Your City and Washington, D.C. At the feast Bush said, "America is a land of many faiths, and we honor and welcome and value the Muslim faith." Not a good idea, George! Bush is wrong to honor the Muslim faith. As a Christian he is to love the Muslim people, but not honor their religion. Honor is to go to Jesus Christ only. Remember ?, He is THE WAY? Here is another kicker. The United States
Postal Service has just issued a first class holiday postage stamp that
honors the EID MUSLIM holiday season. I concur with the one who sent me
an e-mail message about that stamp; we should BOYCOTT. Don't buy that
stamp at the post office! Remember it was Muslims that bombed PanAm Flight 103, the World Trade Center in 1993, the Marine barracks in Lebanon, the military barracks in Saudi Arabia , the American Embassies in Africa, the USS Cole, the Pentagon and the Twin Towers in New York. Most people are aware that Islam is the dominant religion in Arab countries, but it is important that we realize that only 23 percent of the Arabs in America are Muslims. Meanwhile much of the recruitment of people to the Muslim faith occurs in our nations prisons, particularly among blacks. My understanding is that people in Muslim dominated countries have one of three choices (1) become a Muslim, (2) become a second class citizen, (3) be put to death. No other religion is allowed. Most Arabs in America are not Muslims and many are Christian. Most probably come here for the freedom America offers. We Christians are called to win others, including Muslims to Christ . However, It is shameful for any American, especially our president to pander to Muslims in such a way to give the Islam faith legitimacy. It's a disservice to the Muslims, and certainly a wrong impression to make on all the unsaved people in America who already think one religion is as legitimate as the next. I say it is a poor Christian witness and un-American (at least according to our founding fathers)...............and that's...... ......................My Biased Opinion Georgia on My Mind November 22, 2003. Forty years ago on November 22 I was 22 years of age. At about five p.m. I walked into a motel room on the campus of the University of Georgia and turned the TV on to learn that our President, John F. Kennedy had been shot and killed. I don't even remember the name of the other North Carolina State University graduate student who was with me on a special assignment to pick up some research animals and transport them back to Raleigh, N.C. Forty years in the life of any man is a lot of living. I was nearly forty years old before I really began to see the absolute truth in God's Word. As a Christian who gives a lot of thought to what goes on in our culture against the backdrop of eternity, and specifically our call to discipleship here on earth, I have some thoughts to share. I believe there was a conspiracy to kill Kennedy. Maybe I'm cynical about the wickedness of powerful men, or more correctly I am very suspicious of wicked men who gain power. I do think the general public has a learning curve about truth that lags way too far behind what is going on in our culture. There are some important reasons for this: (1) the wicked use deception as one of their most effective tools, (2) Young Americans are so busy chasing education, jobs, success, and raising their families that they spend very little time studying current events (beyond the kids' soccer scores)., and (3) Christians have followed the culture rather than setting the example to lead. Public schooling is the best example of our following when we should be leading with home and Christian schooling. So, lets just set aside the question about who shot JFK. Anyone who sees the decline in our culture taking place right before our eyes should put the soccer ball down long enough to repeat the JFK challenge, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." And we Christians need to focus on that Scripture that says "Righteous exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." (Proverbs 14:34, NIV) Of course righteousness(and sin) resides within individuals, and the individuals comprise the nation..........and that's... ......................My Biased Opinion Sick Puppies November 13, 2003. When Bill Clinton, a married man, was serving as president he had sexual encounters in the Oval Office with an intern young enough to be his daughter, and he lied under oath. His stains on her dress provided some evidence that lead to his impeachment. Our U.S. Senate, including West Virginia's Jay (Rockefeller) Byrd (Robert) combo made excuses for Clinton's behavior, and decided they should keep him in the office. On November 13 of this year Alabama's nine-member Court of the Judiciary removed Roy Moore from his position as chief justice for defiance of a federal judge's order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the rotunda of the state courthouse. At this point I am unwilling to believe that the majority of Americans agree with either of the above decisions, but something is abundantly clear to me; the elite decision makers at the highest levels in our nation's government are a sick bunch of puppies..... and that's......................
Boycott CBS.................and NBC, ABC, CNN November 4, 2003. A miniseries about former president Ronald Reagan to be shown later this month is apparently a work of trash. Reagan is a beloved man and was a great president. Now at 92 years of age and dying of Alzheimer's he obviously cannot rebuke the CBS network responsible for the fabricated story.. I have read some of the script quotations and readily agree that, at the very least it is distasteful, but disgraceful comes closer to an accurate description. Conservative leaders including politicians, columnists and Christian leaders are calling for a boycott of the miniseries. I am boycotting CBS....in fact, I have been boycotting most CBS programs for at least 12 years, back when the elder George Bush was in the White House. A Dan Rather interview with Bush was the straw that broke my camel's back. There has been a lot of talk about liberal bias in the media during the past two years, but honest, discerning viewers and readers have known this for many years. CBS is not alone in its liberal bias as most major networks are biased to the extent that the liberal slant has morphed into outright lies. I think all the furor over the miniseries is good, but frankly I think Christians should have abandoned most all TV programming many years ago. The prime time programing with all its sexual content, foul language, anti family themes, and violence should be enough to reject the whole mess. Glenda and I dropped CBS with Dan Rather's dishonest and distasteful interview with the elder Bush, we dropped the idea of ever returning to Disney when we learned of their special Gay days at the theme park, and we dropped our membership in the Democratic Party immediately following the party's selection of William Jefferson Clinton as their presidential nominee in 1992. Christians should be more discerning; we should lead, not follow. We need to reject the ungodly early in the game. If we did that, then no one would even consider producing filth.........and that's..... ......................My Biased Opinion The Government Thinks? October 23, 2003. In reaction to Lt. General William Boykin's speeches at evangelical churches, President George W. Bush had this to say, "It just doesn't reflect what the government thinks." ..........come on George, since when does the government think?....and if it did, who would trust it? On the serious side, why does our president, an avowed Christian take exception with the General? General Boykin has been taken through the hot coals lately because he spoke of his Christian convictions in different churches during the past few months. Some outspoken Islamic leaders went ballistic, and several politicians followed suit. One example of the type thing Boykin said was a comment he made regarding a Muslim militia leader in Somalia in 1993: "I knew that my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God, and his was an idol." Boykin has also said in these churches that Islamic extremists hate the United States "because we're a Christian nation, because our foundation and our roots are Judeo-Christian.....And the enemy is a guy named Satan." Anyone bothering to check the facts will realized that practically all the major wars in the world right now are caused by people of the Muslim faith. So what's the beef with Boykin? He would have fit in quite well when this country was founded. Now heathens and Christians alike are giving him the raspberries for comments anyone who calls themselves a Christian should be boldly proclaiming every day. Boykin has made some apology, which was totally unnecessary in my opinion. The Bible says, "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:16) . Allah and Jehovah God are not one and the same, this nation was founded upon Judeo-Christian values, most founders where Christian, and some of us are getting more tired by the day when milquetoast Christians scurry like rats in a burning building when a high profile Christian expresses his faith based opinion....that goes for you too, George...... are you naive, do you lack strong Christian convictions, or is reelection your central focus?..............if it is any of the three choices listed, I say we need better leadership.......and that's.............. .......................................My Biased Opinion |
