Jesusland.....Yeesss!

November 12, 2004. Well the buzz is still out there about how gun and Bible tote'n rednecks put politicians in power positions all over the United States, and particularly in Washington, D.C. If being separated from God for an eternity was not such a serious issue, the way some Democrats are acting would be totally hilarious. It's still funny and yet sad too. Most people are familiar with the U.S. map with red counties (Bush voters) comprising most of the land area and blue counties (Kerry voters) making up very little land but a lot of population in concentrated areas around Chicago, Houston, the west coast, and the northeast coast. Anyway, some liberal has constructed a new map with the blue areas annexed by Canada and called the United States of Canada. Then the left over red area was labeled "Jesusland". At dinner table one evening Glenda and I wholeheartedly agreed we would accept that designation. Yeesss, we are residents of Jesusland!

A few days after the election the Democratic Leadership Council met to analyze the election and plan for the future. Bruce Reed of the DLC addressed the group and gave a long list of people groups that voted Republican:

"It's no surprise for Democrats to lose white men and evangelicals. But last Tuesday, we also lost white women, married people, couples with children, high-school graduates, college graduates, people over 30, and by my estimate, voters in every income category above $40,000. Our coalition consisted of high-school dropouts and those with a postgraduate education."

Do a double take on that last sentence, "Our coalition consisted of high-school dropouts and those with a postgraduate education. Here's how I read that; overeducated people are just as dumb as those who drop out of high school..........and that's.........
